NFC technology has become increasingly popular for mobile payment transactions, but the fact that it is always on creates a potential security risk. My proposed solution to set up two modes, on and off, could potentially mitigate this risk.
To expand on my project idea, here are some possible steps I would take:
• Conduct a thorough review of existing NFC technology and related security risks: This will involve researching and analyzing the current state of NFC technology, its vulnerabilities, and how they can be exploited.
• Design and develop a prototype: Based on the research, design a prototype that incorporates two modes of operation, on and off. This could involve modifying existing NFC technology to incorporate the new modes or developing a new NFC application or device that can switch between the two modes.
• Test and evaluate the prototype: Once we have a functional prototype, test it under different conditions and evaluate its effectiveness in preventing unauthorized access to card information. This could involve using various NFC readers in different scenarios, such as in a crowded area or a quiet office.
• Develop a user-friendly interface: To ensure that users can easily switch between the two modes, we will need to develop a user-friendly interface that can be easily accessed and operated by the user. This interface should be intuitive and easy to understand.
• Document and present my findings: Document my findings, including any limitations or challenges encountered during the project. Present my findings to my instructor or supervisor, as well as to other stakeholders who may be interested in my project.

In summary, my project idea involves developing two NFC modes for devices that can prevent unauthorized access to card information. To accomplish this, we will need to conduct research, design and develop a prototype, test and evaluate the prototype, develop a user-friendly interface, and document and present my findings.
