However, significant challenges await Po. First, Po knows as little about spiritual leadership as he does about the paleo diet, and second, he must quickly find and train a new Dragon Warrior before he can assume his new lofty position.

The situation becomes even more complicated with the emergence of a wicked and powerful sorceress, Chameleon (Oscar winner Viola Davis), a tiny lizard capable of shape-shifting into any creature, large or small. Chameleon has her greedy, beady little eyes set on Po's Staff of Wisdom, which would grant her the power to summon back all the master villains Po has vanquished to the spirit realm.

In this predicament, Po needs help. Assistance comes in the form of a crafty and quick-witted thief, Zhen (Golden Globe winner Awkwafina), a corsac fox who truly gets under Po's fur, but whose skills prove to be invaluable. In their quest to protect the Valley of Peace from Chameleon's reptilian claws, this unusual comedic duo must work together. In the process, Po discovers that heroes can be found in the most unexpected places.
