We are seeking a talented AI Specialist to help us automate different parts of our business with a focus on pricing for different business segments such as wholesale, retail, marketplaces etc. The ideal candidate will have experience in machine learning and data analysis, and will be able to use their skills to create an algorithm that can suggest the optimal price for each item, based on a variety of data points.
One of the areas we want to automate is our wholesale pricelist. We have a large number of items in our wholesale pricelist, and manually pricing new arrivals and updating prices for existing items based on market prices is a burden. We believe that we can automate this process by using the data we have, including item average cost, item quantity last received, quantity available in stock, quantity sold in the last 30/60/90/180/365 days, and average selling prices for those periods, and other datapoints.
We are looking for someone who can design and implement a system that automatically prices every item based on the rules we have established. For example, these rules may include pricing each item equal to or 1% cheaper than the competition, while maintaining a minimum profit markup of 10%. If the competition is selling too cheap and we can't make our minimum profit, we should try and sell it for the 10% markup for up to one month and then drop our price to match the competition up to selling it at our cost. If we can't sell it for 6 months, then we should allow to drop below our cost by 5%. We would like to reprice every item and publish the pricelist every week, and the system should reprice every item before we publish. The actual task may require a lot more rules probably but this is just to give an idea.
Responsibilities:
• Build and train a machine learning model to predict the optimal price for each item in our wholesale pricelist
• Use data analysis techniques to preprocess and transform the data to ensure it's suitable for the machine learning model
• Develop business rules to ensure the minimum profit markup of 10% is maintained while pricing each item equal to or 1% cheaper than the competition
• Develop a web interface for the pricing engine which can be used by business users to view and update the pricelist, as well as to monitor the pricing engine's performance
• Regularly monitor the performance of the pricing engine and adjust the model and business rules as needed to optimize pricing and maintain profitability
Qualifications:
• At least 3-5 years of experience in machine learning, data analysis, and AI development
• Strong programming skills in Python as well as experience with SQL databases
• Experience with machine learning libraries such as Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and PyTorch
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and extract meaningful insights
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
Hourly Range: $35.00-$70.00
