My name is Amanda, I have just started my company RDY signs. You can find my temporary landing page at RDYsigns.com to get a general look and feel for the company. I’ll be honest I have over 10 years of graphic design experience but web design is like speaking Latin(or some other very difficult language). I have major respect and patience to work with web designers and know there are absolutely limitations if I want a site that seamlessly works with multiple screen sizes, and translates to phone. Please just be patient with me as I do not understand 95% of your world, and you’ll need to probably explain a lot to me in very basic descriptions of what is what. I really am looking for something that is simple and minimal the better, but I appreciate the art of creating something clean & simple takes creativity. I’m fully open to your creative input for content and will provide as much content, photos as needed, but welcome to use “placeholders” and have creative freedom in the designing of the layout. I get it if you say it needs to be 5 words or 2 short paragraphs, ect to look right. Same with if you need photos saved a certain size, add white or black gradient to it, ect I’m capable to provide that for you.
I would like an e-commerce site that allows customers to purchase either digital assets (primarily signs) or purchase the printed sign, which will mean needing 3-6 option per listing (qty, digital or printed, substrate, customize text input, potentially color option and option to upload image) and if they purchase a digital asset then make it so it links them to a page where they can download it after check out.
I will also want the basic landing page, about/contact, portfolio page. These pages I’d like to make very minimal and clean.
Then the most challenging is I’d like to also pay you to train me how to navigate if it’s on word press or whatever platform to do the basic updates of adding photos to portfolio or adding and removing items for sale. I’ll take notes and try to not mess up your hard work.
I may later in time add a page for job bidding, and a step by step guide .pdf assets to download for scheduling a site survey, or getting custom graphics and signage or interior lobby signs, but I’m still working out the flow of how I want to run that portion of the business. So I’m really looking for a relationship, that I can reach out in the future to have your help to continue to develop the site as the business grows. Let me know also if you have a maintenance plan that you can charge monthly for, to just make sure links stay working, everything is viewing properly across platforms, no weird viruses get added to my site and it stays secure, any help with seo or keywords or reports on what’s getting traffic and what’s not if that’s a thing so I can make tweaks to remove or keep certain items would also be fantastic, and anything else I don’t even know is a thing that is pretty standard for website maintence.
I’m working on building up an Etsy account & get qualified as an Amazon distributor as well, so if those are useful platforms to use to just have things link to in order to purchase I’m open to that based on service/merchant fees and what is the best for customer ease of use?
